IAS 2009 and AIRS 2009 in Sapporo next week!

Oct 20: Information Access Symposium 2009
(情報アクセスシンポジウム2009)
This is a Japanese symposium run by IPSJ SIGFI.
Four invited speakers, two from academia and two from industry,
will discuss the future of information access.

Oct 21-23: Asia Information Retrieval Symposium (AIRS) 2009.

This is the banquet venue which we will visit on Oct 22.
There will be koto performances, and if you're lucky,
you might get to touch and play the instruments too.

Also at the banquet, we're going to give a best paper award
for the first time in the history of AIRS.

On Oct 23, we're organising a Sapporo bus tour.
